About Mrs. AndersonThe one thing people know about me is that family and friendships are very important to me. I have been married to my wonderful husband for seven years. We have a beautiful granddaughter that has her Mimi's heart! My sister and I were very blessed to have been raised by wonderful parents. My dad passed away in 2010, but I carry his love and influence with me always. I am lucky to say I have not only one, but five of the best friends a person could ask for. We have been together since we roamed the halls at MacArthur Jr. High. That's a long time!

Education |
I am proud to say that I am a product of the Jonesboro School District. I attended North Elementary, MacArthur Jr. High, and then graduated from Jonesboro High School in 1989, yes, I'm telling my age, haha! I received my Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education from Arkansas State University. Then in 2007 I earned my National Board Certification as an Early Childhood Generalist. I gained my re-certification in 2018.

Teaching History |
I started my career working with children well before graduating from college. I worked with infants and toddlers at area childcare centers for several years. After graduation, I was the director of the ASU Infant and Toddler Childcare Center until the center closing. From there I taught third grade in Trumann for two years. and also had the wonderful opportunity to coach a third and fourth grade Odyssey of the Mind team. My successful team made it all the way to World Finals! (I had to brag on my kids a little!) Although I loved my time teaching in Trumann, I felt so blessed when given the opportunity to "come home" to continue my career. Since being in the Jonesboro School District, I have taught fifth (1 year), second (4 years), and first (11 years) and now I'm starting my second year in third grade.
